Ayan Mukherji recently had announced Brahmastra part 2 and 3 and as it now comes to my hearing, it is to be believed that the director is joining hands with Jio studios for a bigger Universe and plans rather than Dharma Productions.
The adventure movie, Brahmastra, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt released in September 2022 and ended with hints of a Part 2, to be followed.
Very recently, Ayan Mukerji had announced the release dates of Brahmastra 2 and 3. The movies were to release in December 2026 and 2027, respectively. After the announcement, Bollywood was abuzz with the rumors of Karan and Ayan not being on good terms. Ayan announced the postponement of his projects and did not tag Dharma Productions for the same.
A close source has revealed, “Ayan has plans to make Brahmastra part 2: Dev and Brahmastra Part 3: Shiva v/s Dev for Jio Studios, which are the tentpole attraction of the deal. Apart from the two pioneers, he will be making spin offs on other characters of the Bhramastra in the format of web-series and independent feature films.”
If the deal gets through with Jio Studios, the Brahmastra franchise will be produced by Jio along with Starlight pictures and Astra Verse. This will be one of the highest deals ever between a studio and a director.
Apart from this, an animated series is also being planned for kids in a 10- year plan to take the franchise forward.
Initially Disney was one of the main producers of Brahmastra but now they have decided to take a back seat. Let’s wait to hear more about the deal.
