Action thrillers are engrossing and keep the audience glued to the screen. One such movie, that is being highly appreciated is ‘The Accountant’ on Amazon Prime Video.
Directed by Gavin O’Connor, it is written by Bill Dubuque. Starring Ben Affleck, Anna Kendrick, J.K. Simmons, Jeffrey Tambor, John Lithgow and others. As the synopsis reads, “Christian Wolf is a math savant with more affinity for numbers than people. Behind the cover of a small-town CPA office, he works as a freelance accountant for some of the world’s most dangerous criminal organizations. With the Treasury Department’s Crime Enforcement Division, run by Ray King, starting to close in, Christian takes on a legitimate client- a state of the art robotics company where an accounting clerk, Anna Kendrick, has discovered a discrepancy involving millions of dollars. But as Christian un-cooks the books and gets closer to the truth, it is the body count that starts to rise.”
The characters are well drawn out and this gives the movie a good edge. A good spy-thriller, you are drawn to the plot. Great direction and Ben Affleck’s charms work magic. The only let down is the end. You wait for the final fight to happen and the reason they’re fighting for- it lets you down.
One of the reviews goes like this, “Ben Affleck was solid and twists along the action blocks makes it an engaging action ride. Gripping thrill ride!”
