The IIFA Awards, 2023 were held in Abu Dhabi on Friday and Saturday with the IIFA Rocks events held on 26th and the main awards on 27th May.
Hrithik Roshan, Salman Khan, Kirti Sanon, Vicky Kaushal, Sara Ali Khan and several other Bollywood celebrities attended the event. Hrithik Roshan won the Best actor award for his action-packed performance in Vikram Vedha, starring Sara Ali Khan opposite him. The Best Actor in the leading role female, was presented to Alia Bhatt for Gangubai Kathiawadi. Alia did not attend the ceremony as her maternal grandfather is in the hospital.
Anil Kapoor, won an award for a supporting role in Jug Jugg jeeyo. Actor Kamal Haasan won the award for his Outstanding Achievement in India cinema. There was a standing ovation for him as he received the award. The best supporting actor role, female, was won by Mouni Roy for Brahmastra.
- Madhavan, shines for his direction in his masterpiece, ‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect.’ The best adapted story was awarded to Drishyam 2. Late Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan’s son, Babil Khan won the Best Debut Male for the movie Qala and shared it with Santanu Maheshwari, for Gangubai Kathiawadi.
The main event on Saturday was hosted by Vicky Kaushal and Abhishek Bachchan.
