Those who do not believe in global warming may have their minds changed after learning that a 70-year-old lady from Canada has been diagnosed with ‘climate change.’ As strange as it may sound, her respiratory issues have been linked to the catastrophic heatwaves that swept through Canada earlier this year.

According to the Times Colonist, the lady was taken to the emergency room at Kootenay Lake Hospital in Nelson, British Columbia, along with hundreds of other patients who were dealing with several medical difficulties at the same time.

“Diabetes is a problem for her. Her heart is failing…. She has no air conditioning and lives in a trailer. Her health issues have gotten a lot worse. She’s also having a hard time keeping herself hydrated. In the emergency department, we needed to figure out how to keep someone cool.” According to the physician, “Spray bottles are being purchased in droves at the Dollar Store.

In his 10-year tenure as a physician, Meritt claims to have never mentioned the terms “climate change” when completing a patient’s report. According to reports, poor air quality has been blamed for many people’s deteriorating health, as pollution from wildfires increased 43 times in portions of Canada in July and August. “If we don’t look at the fundamental reason and merely manage the symptoms,” Meritt said in an interview with Glacier Media, “we’re just going to keep sliding farther and further behind.”

He went on to say that other doctors should be aware of the linkages between climate change and the health of their patients. According to Meritt, smoke and heat have consequences beyond physical health, with doctors reporting an increase in the number of sad and worried persons during wildfire season.
