Each year, on September 29th, World Heart Day is commemorated to promote awareness of cardiovascular disease and stroke prevention. On this day &TV artists share their heart-healthy diets to ward off heart disease. These include Mohit (Manoj, Doosri Maa), Geetanjali Mishra (Rajesh, Happu Ki Ultan Paltan), and Shubhangi Atre (Angoori Bhabi, Bhabiji Ghar Par Hai). RJ Mohit, aka Manoj from Doosri Maa, shares, “I am committed to maintaining a diet that prioritises low-fat, nutrient-dense foods, with a preference for recipes centred around vegetables or fruits, such as vegetable stir-fry or incorporating fresh fruits into salads. Modifying one’s dietary balance, whether managing heart disease or not, can notably reduce the overall stroke risk and promote heart health. In addition, I safeguard my well-being by securing a restorative eight hours of sleep nightly and waking early to engage in my regular exercise and cycling regimen.”

Geetanjali Mishra, Rajesh from Happu Ki Ultan Paltan, shares, “I prioritise staying hydrated by consuming ample water throughout the day and carrying a bottle filled with fresh fruit or vegetable juice. Additionally, I incorporate regular meditation breaks between tasks to maintain a sense of relaxation. Maintaining a healthy, well-functioning heart is consuming nutritious meals at the right time. Despite occasional cravings, I consciously try to avoid junk food, opting instead for a daily diet rich in leafy greens, fresh vegetables, fruits, and milk. Consequently, I encourage everyone to prioritise healthy eating habits to support overall well-being and ensure proper hydration for a healthy lifestyle.” Shubhangi Atre, Angoori Bhabi from Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hai, shares, “I wholeheartedly endorse the age-old saying, ‘Health is Wealth.’ Alongside my dedication to a nourishing diet centred on homemade and organic food. I make it a point to actively participate in cardio workouts. Equally vital, I consistently monitor my cholesterol levels. I adhere to a core set of principles at home to foster a robust heart. These include regular brisk walks, a dietary inclination towards foods low in spice and oil, and a firm commitment to stress reduction. Health is sometimes underestimated until illness strikes, but prioritising prevention is the optimal route to overall well-being.”
