August has been raining new content on OTT with a plethora of new shows and movies that are promising and entertaining.
Actress Tamannah Bhatia from Lust Stories, is the protagonist of ‘Akhri Sach’ on Disney + Hotstar. This one is a crime drama, “a chilling masterpiece, aur ab yeh investigating officer Anya ki duty hai ki Akhri Sach bahar aaye.”
Directed by Robbie Grewal and written by Saurav Dey, the cast also includes Abhishek Banerjee, Shivin Narang, Danish Iqbal, Nishu Dikshit, Kirti Vij and Sanjeev Chopra. The series is inspired by the Burari death incident.
This 8-episode series, delves into the mysteries that were unearthed in the Burari household in 2018. It is a story of mass suicide where the investigator uncovers deception, twists and is called upon to probe the death of 11 family members who all perish the same night.
Actress Kirti Vij states, “So ‘Aakhri Sach’ is a fictional story with fictional characters inspired by real event which went down in history as one of the most bizarre and horrifying cases. The show follows the crime investigation that uncovers complex events and dynamics of a family.” Elaborating further, “My role in the show is that of a girl called Anshika who is part of this family. She is someone who has a 9 to 5 job at a company. Along with that, she is also in the process of getting married to someone she has met through an arranged marriage set up.”
The series is like a jig saw puzzle, every new clue takes you deeper into the mystery and you are hooked.
