Aamir Khan is in news for the ads he’s doing for the IPL matches with his Dream 11 commercials, as he sportingly takes jokes on his failure, referring to his last movie Laal Singh Chaddha that performed poorly. The ad shows Bumrah mocking him for the failure of the movie and another ad, features Aamir Khan for not attending the award functions.

Following the failure of the movie, Aamir Khan had officially announced that he would take some time off. His appearance in the Dream 11 ad campaign, at the time of the IPL is his first screen appearance after the much-hyped Laal Singh Chaddha film.

For those unversed, the ad is about 15 seconds where Aamir tells Bumrah, “Boom Boom, ball carefully, I hit big.” Bumrah shoots back, “If you’re such a big hitter, what happened to Laal Singh?)” Aamir gives him the look and challenges him to a face-off on the field.

Most viewers have praised Aamir for his sporting spirit. Producer Atul Kasbekar took to Twitter and commented, “Quite enjoying the Dream 11 adverts with #AamirKhan and various cricketers. To green light scripts with self-deprecating humor is rare with most superstars. It actually ends up being a superpower. Endears one to an audience if you can take a joke on yourself. Well done.”

The movie Laal Singh Chaddha is the official remake of the Tom-Hanks’ movie Forrest Gump.
