Actress Abhilasha Patil passed away on Wednesday, May 5 due to covid-19 complications. She was in her early 40s and is survived by her husband and son.
Actor Sanjay Kulkarni, who shared the screen space with Abhilasha in Zee Yuva daily soap BaapManus confirmed the news of her demise and stated, “Last evening around six, I got a call from Jyoti Patil, who worked with us in BaapManus, about Abhilasha’s poor health. I learnt she has gone to Benaras where she got fever and on her return to Mumbai, she tested positive for coronavirus.
“After which, I tried reaching out to her, but both of her numbers were switched off. Then around 8.30 pm, actor Anand Prabhu, who played our son on the same show, informed me about her demise. This news has been shocking because she had so much to achieve in life. She had plans. She was kind-hearted and such a hardworking artist. It’s a huge loss to the industry”, he added.
Abhilasha was seen in bollywood films like Chhichhore, Good newwz, Badrinath Ki Dulhania. She has not only worked in bollywood industry, but also in Marathi and Bhojuri industry.
Abhilasha Patil is among those few celebs who succumbed to covid-19 in the second wave of novel corona virus. Several other celebrities like Kishore Nandlasarkar, Lalit Behl, Bikramjeet Kanwarpal, music director Shravan Rathod, among others left for heavenly abode due to the deadly virus.
