When Rupali was asked about her usual fitness regime and how she always ensures that she remains in her best shape, the actress shared some interesting tips and pointers which everyone must understand to enhance their fitness quotient.
“Fitness for me is very personalized just like how it should be for everyone else. What might be my fitness goal might not be someone else’s fitness goal and vice-versa. So, it’s first important to understand what are your expectations from yourself and then push yourself in that direction accordingly. For me, I always think of myself as my own competition and try to be a better version of what I was the previous day. My fitness routine is more of cardiovascular exercises blended with a bit of weight-training and HIIT. Also, yoga is sacrosanct for me and for me, there’s nothing better than that. I like to take less breaks in between my sets in order to enhance my resistance and overall strength and that certainly helps the stamina in the long run. Apart from that, I am very particular about my diet and the quantity and proportion that I am eating. For me, my heaviest meal of the day is my breakfast that gets me sorted for a nice day throughout. My lunch is lighter and dinner is the lightest meal of the day which I try to finish by 8pm. My diet is more of protein, fibre and other nutrients including good fat and totally excludes any sort of carb or junk. Overall, it’s tough to maintain yourself to look a certain way but discipline and dedication makes a lot possible. So my mantra would be to keep it easy, don’t push yourself beyond your resistance, have a trainer who understands your body and needs nicely and start slow and steady. My personal favourites that test me the most would be planks, glute bride, squat, side plank, burpees, jumping jack, & HIIT intervals.”
