Bollywood actress and philanthropist Tanishaa S Mukerji added a spark of inspiration and patriotic fervour as she attended SVKM J.V. Parekh International School’s inter-clan cultural extravaganza ‘Jashn-e-Bharat’ as Chief Guest and Judge.
Held at the Shri Mukesh Patel Auditorium (NMIMS Campus, Vile Parle – West), the event marked the celebration of the 79th Independence Day and showcased the creative spirit of the school. Students from various clans came together for a vibrant display of Group Singing, Group Recitation, and Group Dance performances — each segment infused with national pride and artistic finesse.
Adding to the emotional resonance of the event, the students included songs in their performances from classic films produced by Tanishaa’s legendary grandfather, Shashadhar Mukerji. This heartfelt gesture served as a touching tribute not only to the country, but also to her storied family legacy — leaving Tanishaa visibly moved.
Tanishaa was especially invited to judge the Group Dance segment, and her gracious presence was met with loud applause from students, faculty members and parents alike. Dressed in elegant ethnic attire, she took time to encourage the young participants and appreciated their effort in promoting Indian values and culture through art.
Speaking at the event, Tanishaa said such school initiatives “ignite love for our nation and nurture a generation that expresses its freedom through creativity, discipline and unity.” She also congratulated the teachers for guiding the students in bringing alive the colourful spirit of Bharat on stage.
The Management and Principal of SVKM J.V. Parekh International School expressed heartfelt gratitude to Tanishaa for making the occasion memorable with her encouraging words and thoughtful judgement.
‘Jashn-e-Bharat’ concluded on a high note with the felicitation of winners and a collective rendition of the national anthem — reminding everyone that freedom and creativity go hand in hand when guided with purpose and passion.
