Alia Bhatt has stated that she did not accept the role of Heart of Stone only to make her Hollywood debut. The spy thriller, directed by British filmmaker Tom Harper and starring Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan, is a Netflix original. Alia, whose newly released Gangubai Kathiawadi has become a movie office sensation, announced her Hollywood debut earlier this month on her Instagram account.
The actress, who turns 29 on Tuesday, just spoke out for the first time about the film. She stated that her decision to accept a project is presently based on whether or not she will like working on it.
“I simply don’t want to do it for the sake of ticking it off the box,” she told News 18. I’m looking for possibilities that have a decent role, an engaging dynamic, and a cast, as well as something new and relevant.”
Alia is now prepping for the March 25 release of SS Rajamouli’s RRR, which stars Ram Charan and Jr NTR. In Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra, she will star with lover Ranbir Kapoor. Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, and Mouni Roy also appear in the film, which will be released on September 9th this year. In addition, Alia is collaborating with Ranveer Singh on Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, in which Dharmendra and Jaya Bachchan also feature.
Eternal Sunshine Productions is her new production company, and the studio’s debut film, Darlings, will be released in conjunction with Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment. In the film, Alia plays the prominent role with Shefali Shah.
Alia claims that competition has no longer affected her initiatives. “The rat race isn’t gratifying,” she explained, “and it can also become addicting and destructive.” As a result, it no longer bothers me. That is not a game I want to play. What motivates me is to continue working with individuals with whom I am familiar and to pursue projects and parts that I enjoy. “I’d like to keep it light, cheerful, and meaningful.”
