Ananya Panday is now enjoying the success of her most recent film, Gehraiyaan. The film, which was published on Amazon Prime Video last month, earned positive reviews from reviewers but mixed reactions from spectators. Ananya has already worked in one remake in her brief career – Pati, Patni Aur Woh – but the actor is hoping that’s all for remakes for the time being. In a recent interview, the star expressed her desire for the Bollywood remake craze to fade away.

In a recent conversation, Ananya expressed her desire to develop more new work and to take the audience along a route with more unique, fresh stuff. She stated that she was no longer sure how she felt about remakes.

“I hope we don’t have to do any more remakes. This makes me very pleased. This is a road we’re on where we’re telling a unique, bolder, and more sophisticated tale. So, I’m at the point where I don’t want to see any more remakes.”

The actor went on to say of Bollywood directors replicating stories from the South, saying, “I believe they are well aware of their target audience’s desires. They also work with a distinct form of magic. I’m not sure how I feel about remakes any longer.”

Ananya is now working on Puri Jagannadh’s Liger, a film starring Vijay Deverakonda and former world champion boxer Mike Tyson, directed by Puri Jagannadh. On Thursday night in Mumbai, Ananya and Vijay were seen conversing enthusiastically at film director Apoorva Mehta’s birthday event.

Ananya is currently filming Zoya Akhtar’s Kho Gaye Hum Kahan with Siddhant Chaturvedi and Adarsh Gourav, in addition to Liger.
