Anup Soni discussed his experience working in the broadcast and OTT industries in an exclusive interview with The Statesman. He also emphasized the benefits of seeing Saas Bahu Achar Pvt. Ltd., his most recent film.
“Thanks to my training at the National School of Drama, where I have given live performances, I have been able to participate in all the mediums I have worked in, including theatre. I have produced television shows and online programs. The beginning, middle, and conclusion of a character are predetermined in movies and web series, which is what I believe to be the main distinction between web series, films, and television. However, on television, the character starts off in a different mood before changing into something else. The character varies more than 50 colors on television because of the lengthy stories.
“The medium of television requires you to play scene-by-scene. In a television drama, you may be a decent man right now, but you might change your character the next day. However, in movies and web series, your character is predetermined, the screenplay is written, and you are familiar with the plot. That’s why I’m concentrating more on my film and web series projects, where you play a character, conclude that character’s story, and then go on to a new project where you get to play a new role.
