Actor Anupam Kher is known for his wisdom and he talks about the brilliant success of Pathaan. He said, “No one gets influenced to watch a film by following a trend. If you liked the trailer of the film, you want to watch it. If the movie is well made, no one has the power to sabotage it. People will even go to watch the film with a feeling of vengeance against the hate trend.”
He elaborates, “The audience never boycotted cinema. We had gone through a pandemic, there were lockdowns and people were asked to sit in their houses. This has happened after 100 years or something. During this phase, audiences did look out for other means of entertainment. The OTT platforms saw a boost, and they started watching the films at ease. To bring them out of fear takes some time.”
The movie has done a business of 832.2 crores worldwide in 12 days. It had been subjected to several controversies such as the Besharam Rang song last year and for Deepika’s saffron bikini. Many found this hurting religious sentiments and objectionable.
Anupam Kher will soon be seen in the film Shiv Shastri Balboa, featuring Neena Gupta, Nargis Fakri and Sharib Hashmi. It is expected in theatres on Febuary 10th.
