BTS, dubbed one of the world’s largest bands, has cemented its presence in the worldwide market by dominating every global music chart with their albums. It’s tough to quantify the band’s success when they have over 25 Guinness World Records to their name and devoted followers from all over the world who transcend nationality and language. BTS fans have been hoping for an album or single from the group since their successful in-person performance, Permission to Dance on Stage, in Los Angeles.
ARMY, on the other hand, has been anticipating the return of both the seven-member South Korean band and DTS for quite some time. Never one to let the fans down, BTS leader RM granted their requests and gifted them with a charming DTS return.
The 27-year-old musician, who entertains his 27 million Instagram followers with beautiful artwork and the occasional selfie, shared DTS’ return on his Instagram story. He posted a photo of seven ducklings created from snow on the ground. However, in keeping with the overall idea, the rapper ensured that the snowy ducklings adhered to social separation rules by placing them far away.
For the uninitiated, RM (Kim Namjoon) launched DTS in January of last year when he shared an image of seven snow ducks on BTS’ official Twitter account. He titled the photo “DTS” when he shared it. ARMY was quick to notice and began referring to the snowy ducks as ‘DuckTanSonyeondan,’ ‘Ducktan,’ and other BTS-related terms. Fans were excited to witness a DTS reappearance after more than a year, and they urged the leader to recreate the snow ducklings.
Fans’ enthusiasm knew no boundaries as they welcomed DTS’ return on social media as soon as RM released DTS’ photo. “Omg DTS Comeback!!!” commented one admirer. “With a little social distance this time…” commented one person, while another added, “Finally! The DTS RETURN that we’ve all been waiting for.”
