As fans prepare to say goodbye to a terrific series, a season finale is always a difficult viewing. However, if a title’s future is uncertain, that sensation of dread might linger long after the series has ended.

This is especially true for fans of the online series ‘Aashram,’ which became an instant classic when it originally aired in late August 2020, garnering over 100 million views in just five days and 400 million by the time season 2 aired a few months later.

Many Aashram fans would not have expected an 18-month hiatus between seasons 1 and 2, given the short turnaround between the first and second instalments.

“I am looking forward to it [the third season], I just want to thank all the people for the praise and love that we have got for Aashram,” said main actor Bobby Deol after the completion of chapter two.

“The public expects a lot from you after two successful seasons,” screenwriter Tejpal Singh Rawat continued, “therefore it becomes your obligation to come up with good stuff.”

Fans, on the other hand, were quite certain that the third season would be produced sooner or later. Despite having a slower and more deliberate pace than the first season, Chapter 2 concluded on an abrupt cliff-hanger, implying that the production team had already planned for a second broadcast when scripting the second season.

Aashram, meanwhile, was adored by millions of viewers all over the world, with the first season having been viewed over 400 million times! This makes it one of the parent streaming service’s main original titles; every platform requires at least one series to attract in viewers, and Aashram has become that series for MX Player.

MX Player published a beautiful new trailer for Aashram season 3 on their YouTube page on May 14th, and it was officially announced as part of the new teaser that the hit series will return for season 3 on Friday, June 3rd!

MX Player has not stated when season 3 would be released, although all original content on the site is normally released around 12 a.m. IST.

The teaser trailer did say that all of season 3’s episodes will be released on June 3rd, but the exact number of episodes was not mentioned. Fans may expect another nine episodes, since both seasons 1 and 2 had nine total instalments.

Fans should be aware that MX Player can only be accessed outside of India using a VPN, while the company has indicated that “we are thinking about increasing our borders in the future.” For the time being, however, it will not be feasible to provide a timeline.”

Unfortunately, the third chapter in Baba’s journey has already become a problematic production when the set was allegedly vandalised on October 25th, 2021.

According to internet sources, the vandals were linked to the Bajrang Dul activist organisation, who took issue with Aashram “misrepresenting Hindus.”

Thankfully, work resumed soon after, indicating that the damage was not the primary cause for the delay in the release of Aashram season 3.
