According to trade expert Taran Adarsh, John Abraham’s latest action film, Attack, failed to build early hype among moviegoers, grossing only Rs 3.51 crore on its first day of release.
On Twitter, Adarsh posted the film’s numbers. “#Attack is uninteresting on Day 1…,” he wrote. It has been entirely shelved by the #RRR wave in mass circuits, and metros haven’t embraced it either… For a good weekend total, Biz has to improve on Days 2 and 3… 3.51 crores on Friday. #India business.”
This is less than expected, and it must be discouraging to everyone concerned. The film is projected to generate roughly Rs 4 to Rs 5 crore on day one, according to trade expert Girish Johar, who previously told Indianexpress.com. “The Attack trailer has gotten a lot of positive feedback, and John Abraham, Rakul Preet, and the director are touring the country to promote the film,” he stated. This picture is just up John’s alley, and the audience enjoys seeing him in parts like this.”
Last year, Satyameva Jayate 2 grossed Rs 3.22 crore in its first weekend. The first Satyameva Jayate film, on the other hand, made Rs 19.50 crore on its opening day. Meanwhile, Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files is close to crossing the Rs 250 crore mark and is disturbing upcoming releases like as Attack. It has so far grossed Rs 238.28 crore.
In addition to Jacqueline Fernandez and Rakul Preet Singh, the film also has Prakash Raj and Ratna Pathak Shah in supporting roles.
While John Abraham has star power and the capacity to entice moviegoers to the theatres, his picture has had to contend with the assault of an SS Rajamouli epic, RRR, which, despite being in its second week, shows no signs of slowing down.
