Bangarraju, the sequel to Soggade Chinni Nayana, was Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya’s second collaboration.

Bangarraju, starring Nagarjuna Akkineni and Naga Chaitanya, is headed to ZEE5 following a great theatrical run. On February 18, the film, which marks the father-son duo’s second collaboration, will be released on the OTT platform.

On Sankranti, Bangarraju was released. While the picture was well-received by the public, it was not well-received by critics.
“For some time, we watch Bangarraju with swarms of females naively clapping for him,” the critic said. It appears like the entire community is dedicated to stroking his ego and keeping him happy at all costs. Almost no one, male or woman, believes in the concept of self-respect. Such films promote the problematic notion of women as a desirable commodity to be obtained by affluent, attractive, and blessed males. The larger the number of girls dying to be with him, the more valuable he is. When all the villagers huddle up and decide to keep the young girls in their family under control because they think Bangarraju is too sexy and the girls in their family don’t have enough self-control to reject the advances of a man who is an established flirt, the film adds another layer to its problematic understanding of what are desirable characteristics of a man.”

“When we were filming for Manam, there was a little apprehension in me to perform in front of my father,” Naga Chaitanya said to indianexpress.com about working with his father Nagarjuna Akkineni. That employment experience allowed me to operate in Bangarraju with more freedom.”

Bangarraju stars Ramya Krishnan and Krithi Shetty in important roles, and was directed by Kalyan Krishna.
