The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce will shortly bestow the renowned Walk of Fame Star honour on British actor Benedict Cumberbatch. The event will take place on February 28 at 6918 Hollywood Boulevard in front of The Line Store, and the star will be presented in the area of Motion Pictures. According to Ana Martinez, Producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the Doctor Strange actor’s career crosses genres, and she is honoured to welcome him to the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Benedict Cumbertech is known for his roles in critically acclaimed films and television series such as Sherlock, The Power of the Dog, Doctor Strange, and many others. He has received numerous awards throughout his career, including a Primetime Emmy Award, a British Academy Television Award, and a Laurence Olivier Award. For Frankenstein, he received the Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role in a Play, and for Sherlock, he received the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Miniseries or Movie. He received critical acclaim for his roles in The Power of the Dog and The Imitation Game. The film has been nominated for an Academy Award, a BAFTA Award, a Screen Actors Guild Award, and a Golden Globe.
More than 2,700 five-pointed terrazzo and brass stars are embedded in the pavements of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, a historic landmark. The Hollywood Historic Trust, which is self-funded, maintains The Walk of Fame, which is administered by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. Every year, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Walk of Fame selection committee receives approximately 200 nominations. Fans, followers, and celebrities are all allowed to nominate anybody working in the entertainment industry, but this is only feasible if the nominee or their management agrees.
