Ajay Devgn met Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday, August 13, as his film Bhuj: The Pride of India was released on Disney+Hotstar. The actor shared a picture of himself with the minister from their meeting and also penned a gratitude note. The politician also posted a photo on his Twitter handle with Ajay Devgn. In Bhuj: The Pride of India, Ajay essays the role of IAF Squadron Leader Vijay Karnik. The film also stars Sonakshi Sinha, Sanjay Dutt, Ammy Virk, Sharad Kelkar, and Nora Fatehi in pivotal roles.
After meeting Rajnath Singh, Ajay Devgn took to his Twitter handle to share a photo from their meeting. He wrote, “Honoured to meet the Honourable Minister of Defence, India, Shri Rajnath Singh ji. He saw some clips of Bhuj: The Pride of India. For me, it was a befitting platform to showcase the film, that captured India’s victory over Pakistan 50 years ago. Jai Hind.”
Rajnath Singh also shared a snap of himself with the actor. The official Twitter handle of the politician wrote, “Met with renowned Hindi Film actor @ajaydevgn today. He is a wonderful actor and a good human being. He has made a film depicting the heroic efforts of the Indian Armed Forces during the 1971 war. I wish him success in his future endeavours.”
Replying to Singh’s tweet, Devgn wrote, “Thank you Sir for your encouragement and time. It means a lot to me and the Team of Bhuj: The Pride of India.”
About Bhuj: The Pride of India
In the period war film, Ajay Devgn essays the role of IAF Squadron Leader Vijay Karnik. Helmed by Abhishek Dudhaiya, the film is set during the time of 1971 Indo-Pak war saved the border area in Gujarat from the Pakistani army. Vijay Karnik, the then in charge of the Bhuj Airport at that time and re-constructed the entire IAF airbase with the help of 300 women from a local village in Madhapar.
