Bhusan Kumar will be producing the biopic on the life of legendary choreographer Saroj Khan on her first death anniversary, July 3. After working for almost four decades in showbiz, Saroj Khan died on July 3, 2020, due to a massive heart attack. She was 71.
Saroj Khan worked as a choreographer in over 3000 Hindi songs. She was the first women choreographer in Hindi cinema and was known for her stylish and graceful moves.
On her first death anniversary, producer Bhusan Kumar has announced a biopic on her life. Taran Adarsh, a Trade Analyst took to Twitter to share the news of her biopic. Taran wrote on Twitter, “IT’S OFFICIAL… BHUSHAN KUMAR ANNOUNCES SAROJ KHAN BIOPIC… #BhushanKumar [#TSeries] announces biopic on legendary choreographer #SarojKhan… Further developments will be announced soon.”
The biopic will be produced by T-Series. More details regarding the biopic’s director and the cast and crew will be announced in the coming days.
Saroj Khan’s Career
Saroj Khan entered Bollywood as a child artist. She starred in the film Nazrana as baby Shyama at the age of three. After which, in the late 1950s, she became a background dancer. At the age of 13, she got married to B Sohanlal and was a mother to two children. The two parted ways later.
In 1975, Saroj Khan married businessman Sardar Roshan Khan and the couple welcomed a girl child. Then, in the 70s she started concentrating on choreography and became an independent choreographer with Geeta Mera Naam.
She rose to fame from the Hawa Hawai song which started Sridevi in Mr. India in 1987. From there on, she grew and became one of the successful choreographers in Bollywood. She won three National Film Awards for her work.
