A tweet from the official handle of Mumbai Press Club brought the feeling of loss and grief over the Bollywood Industry. The tweet put out a sad message as it informed about the demise of Rashid Irani, a veteran film critic, and restaurateur.
According to reports, Rashid Irani died on July 30th at his home in Mumbai. Soon after, Bollywood actors like Anil Kapoor, Randeep Hooda, and filmmaker Karan Johar took to social media and expressed their condolences.
“Rashid Irani was a kind soul, fair critic, and truly a gem of a person…sending my prayers and condolences to his family and friends,” actor Anil Kapoor tweeted as he gave heartfelt condolences.
Karan Johar seemed to revisit the past as he talked about their old conversations and interactions.
“Rest in peace Rashid….I remember all our interactions and conversations so fondly…. Your insight on Cinema will always be treasured,” Karan Johar wrote on Twitter. Randeep Hooda also posted a picture of Rashid Irani on Twitter and captioned it with “Cinema a little less loved today ..RIP #RashidIrani”
Director Madhur Bhandarkar took to Twitter and wrote, “My deepest condolences.RIP #RashidIrani”
