After a cruise ship was seized for narcotics on October 3, Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan was detained by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). Aboard October 2, the NCB raided a dance party taking place on the Cordelia Cruises’ Empress ship in Mumbai, detaining eight passengers, including Aryan. He, along with Arbaz Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha, was placed in judicial detention on Monday and will remain there until October 7. The court sentenced all of the defendants to judicial detention on Thursday, after which Aryan’s lawyer requested for release.

The court had given the prosecution till Thursday to respond to Aryan Khan’s and the other accused’s bail applications. The prosecution opened the hearing on Friday by presenting three responses to three different bail applications. The bail petitions were described as “misconceived, ill-conceived, and not maintainable” in the response.

Aryan Khan’s bail application stated, “I am a 23-year-old woman with no previous criminal record. I’m from Bollywood, by the way. I accepted an invitation but declined when asked whether I had any drugs. They were truthful in their refusal to accuse me of anything else. My phone’s data has been recovered and submitted to forensics.”

“I’m here with my parents and relatives. I have an Indian passport and will not flee the country. There isn’t any chance of meddling. Bail should be granted to me “the petition went on to say. “Heard, considered, rulings referenced, applications are not maintainable, hence dismissed,” the court ruled after hearing both parties’ arguments.

All three suspects will be transported to Mumbai’s Arthur Road Jail and held in judicial custody for the next 14 days.
