Today, it’s been a year since actor Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead at his Mumbai apartment. The actor’s sudden demise left his family members, friends and fans devastated.  

After Sushant’s death, his Instagram page witnessed steady growth on his Instagram following. The number of followers increased from 9 million to 13.4 million. On his first death anniversary today, his fans have flooded Twitter paying tribute to their beloved actor, making #SushantSinghRajput trending.

The actor’s last post on the photo-sharing app was dedicated to his mother. He lasted posted on June 3, 2020, 11 days before his death. Sharing a collage of his and his mother’s photo, he captioned it as, “Blurred past evaporating from teardrops, unending dreams carving an arc of smile and fleeting life, negotiating between the two… Maa.”

The actor was found dead at his residence in Bandra, Mumbai on June 14, 2020. During the initial investigation, Mumbai Police declared it was a Suicide but later on the case was handled by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and are investigating into different aspects related to finance and drugs.   

His films

Sushant was often compared to Shah Rukh Khan as both the actors made a successful transition from Television to films. He became the household name from the television drama ‘Pavitra Rishta’ after which he made his Bollywood debut in 2013 from the film ‘Kai Po Che’.

Then he went on to star in films like Detective Byomkesh Bakshi, Shuddh Desi Romance, MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, Kedarnath, and Chhichhore. His last film ‘Dil Bechara’ was released after his death in July 2020 on Disney+ Hotstar.
