As India celebrates 75th Independence Day on Sunday, Bollywood celebs also took to social media to extend their wishes to Indians and pay tribute to soldiers. From superstar Amitabh Bachchan to Anil Kapoor, stars said Happy Independence Day.

Amitabh Bachchan shared several posters featuring himself to extend Independence Day wishes. The colors of the Indian National Flag dominate the posters. Sharing the posters, the actor wrote, “Swatantrata Diwas ki anek anek shubhkamnayein.”

Ajay Devgn also took to Twitter and wrote, “Sighting the Indian Flag brings just one emotion to the fore—gratitude…Gratefulness to our Defence Forces who keep it flying high, no matter what. #HappyIndependenceDay.”

Evergreen actor Anil Kapoor posted a monochrome picture from the first Independence Day of India where the first Prime Minister of India, Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru could be seen hoisting the national flag. Sharing the picture, he wrote, “A very Happy Independence Day to us all! May our tricolor fly high and touch the sky!”

Sidharth Malhotra, who is currently enjoying the success of his recent release, Shershaah, visited the memorial of the Kargil War hero on Independence Day. The actor shared a picture of himself in which he can be seen standing with folded hands in front of Captain Vikram Batra’s statue.”Paid my respects to Captain Vikram Batra & all other Fauji heroes in Delhi. Truly had an emotional moment there! Standing in front of his statue, remembering his sacrifice & of 527 other war martyrs…Happy Independence Day,” the actor added.

Raazi actress Alia Bhatt shared a small clip of a bird flying in the sky freely and extended the wishes for Independence Day. Sharing the video the actress wrote, “Happy Independence Day”

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Independence Day is being celebrated in a low-key manner. Prime Minister Narendra Modi unfurled the national flag at the Red Fort in New Delhi.
