The K-pop group, with members RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, V, Jimin and Jungkook, has thrown in some English lyrics in their songs before. The song Dynamite has created ripples on Global YouTube and has gone on to become the first song by a Korean Pop group to spend 30 weeks on Hot 100 Charts. The band was in news again when the song when it scored the band a Grammy Nomination for Best Pop Duo or Group Performance.
The song “Dynamite” has not been planned by the BTS group, it just happened allegedly in an effort to be on stage and communicate with the fans. In their native language, the group had limitations to cater to worldwide audiences, the last-minute rendition happened in English. The end result “Dynamite” has given stiff competition to Beatles as the pastel-coloured dance-heavy video. “Dynamite£ has also outstripped the previous record, set by fellow K-Pop band Blackpink.
BTS group comprises of singers who have separately and written lyrics and released their own albums. The song “Dynamite” was in principle approved by Columbia Records, prior to signing off by the band members. The band was appreciated by music enthusiasts for their performance in Times Square on New Year’s Eve, on Saturday Night Live and Grammys 2019 & 2020. Despite the band’s global achievements, American radio jockeys were apprehensive about giving the band explicit air time. The main reason cited by them was the band’s denial to sing in English.
Dynamite is the first-ever song by BTS group entirely sung in English. Though the lyrics are a total jumble, it is imprecisely peppy, entertaining, and overall enjoyable.
