It appears that the ARMY did not get enough of BTS’”Butter“. The hit single is again at the top of Billboard Hot 100 charts this week. Thus, the song is at no. 1 for 8 weeks.
Consequently, BTS tied with Olivia Rodrigo’s ‘Drivers License” as the longest-running No. 1 single of 2021. Therefore, the band became the first to replace themselves on the charts for the second time. This has not happened earlier in the history of the music world.
After being at no. 1 for seven weeks, ‘ Butter’ was replaced by “Permission to Dance” last week. This week the track has taken its place once again at the top. The song ‘Permission To Dance’ is now at the seventh spot on Billboard Hot 100.
A tweet on BTS’ official Twitter handle reads, “#PermissiontoDance at no. 1 last week, now #BTS_Butter at no. One! HOT 100 brimming with #BTS music for 9 straight weeks.”

The band has reason to rejoice. They posted on social media, “Butter came back to reclaim Billboard HOT 100 No. 1!! Congrats to BTS on topping the chart with ‘Butter’ for 8 times!! The perfect love and support of BTS and ARMY made it possible for Butter to reclaim the throne, once again! Let’s celebrate together with joy in our hearts!”
