BTS, widely regarded as one of the most popular bands on the planet, has a habit of breaking records with each new release. Since their debut in 2013, the South Korean boyband has not only captivated the hearts of the fans in their native nation, but has also established themselves as global sensations. Jin and V, members of the band, have set multiple Billboard records with their solo releases, Yours and Christmas Tree, respectively, adding another feather to their cap.
The singer became the first and only K-Pop soloist to join the list for 11 weeks on January 29, with the single ranking at number 10 on the chart. The artist also broke his own record by making the song the longest-running Korean solo on the Billboard chart.
V’s soulful hit Christmas Tree, on the other hand, reached the 97th place on Billboard’s Global Chart for the week of January 29. This would be the song’s third week on the chart, extending its run, and V would be the first Korean male solo artist to reach the Top 100. The song is the theme song for V’s pal Choi Woo-recently shik’s concluded film Our Beloved Summer.
“#ChristmasTree, an unpromoted song that was released in a month that’s so tough to chart, managed to grab the hearts of the international public due of the soulful and comforting voice of #BTSV,” one netizen remarked. “WORLDWIDE SUPERSTAR JIN,” commented another fan. Jin Kim Seokjin, YOU ARE THE WINNER! Because you appear so far away every day, I listen to #Yours Jin # 김석진 #BTSJIN.”
Meanwhile, the band recently caused quite a commotion on social media by releasing their custom-made gear on their official website. The merchandise was reportedly sold out in a matter of seconds. In addition, the band is gearing up for their forthcoming Permission to Dance on Stage event in South Korea.
