As she talked about her impending hosting gig, the rapper stated that she and her daughter Kulture were both huge fans of the South Korean boyband BTS. Cardi expressed her delight at the prospect of seeing them play and hinted at a future collaboration with the lads.
Cardi B said that her daughter Kulture was a major fan of BTS in an interview with Variety about her forthcoming hosting position at the AMAs 2021. “I really enjoy BTS,” she replied, “but let me tell you something. BTS is a favourite of my daughter’s. “Mommy, mommy, put [on] the music,” and I’m like, “Mommy, mommy, put [on] the song,” and I’m like, “I already know what she’s talking about.”
She also said that she was approached by BTS and asked if she would create a song with them in the future. “Perhaps,” Cardi said. I was meant to be on one of their records, but I had just released one and it was about to go platinum. “However, I adore them.”
At this year’s presentation, Cardi has three nominations: favourite female hip-hop artist, favourite music video, and favourite hip-hop song, while BTS is up for artist of the year. BTS will also perform at the AMAs; they were previously scheduled to perform Butter remix with Megan, but she had to cancel due to personal reasons.
Meanwhile, Olivia Rodrigo will sing a song from her first album that has yet to be titled, and Bad Bunny has confirmed a world premiere performance of his song Lo Siento BB. Rodrigo has seven nominations for the 2021 American Music Awards, while Bad Bunny has six. The Weekend received six nominations, while Doja Cat and Giveon both received five nods. Taylor Swift is nominated in three categories and holds the record for the most American Music Awards (AMA) victories of any artist in history.
