Each actor is committed to his film and role and trains immensely to look like what the script demands. The actor plays the role of Oppenheimer in Christopher Nolan’s movie that has released world over on the 21st July and has rave reviews.
His co-star Emily Blunt, the one who plays Kitty, his wife, shared some snippets of valuable information regarding his diet. To look like J Robert Oppenheimer, Murphy had to make drastic efforts to change his physique and look lean. She said, “He had a monumental undertaking. And all he could eat, like an almond every day. He was so emaciated.”
Matt Damon added, “We invited Cillian to dinner every night and he never went.” Blunt adds, “He ate only one almond most nights or a little slice of apple.”
If you have seen this movie, you will agree to the phrase, ‘an apple a day, keeps the weight away.’ He is looking so lean and slim.
Cillian himself comments, “I love acting with my body, and Oppenheimer had a very distinct physicality and silhouette, which I wanted to get right. I had to lose quite a bit of weight and we worked with the costume and tailoring, he was very slim, and almost emaciated and existed on martinis and cigarettes.”
The movie is a biopic and follows the real-life events of physicist J Robert Oppenheimer’s life work. It gives us an insight into how the nuclear bomb was devised in World War 2 and the journey that Oppenheimer undertook to get it done. From starting a township at La Almos to facing trial, this movie surely keeps one engrossed.
