Veteran Cinematographer Johny Lal died due to novel corona virus on April 21 at his residence in Mumbai. The cinematographer was diagnosed with Covid-19 couple of weeks ago while shooting on some project.

Johny Lal was a renowned cinematographer in Bollywood. He has worked on films like Om Jai Jagadish, Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai, Partner, Lakeer, Yaadein among others.  

Actor R Madhvan took to twitter on Thursday to pay his tribute to Johny and wrote, “The saga of tragedies continues and we lost a wonderful man – The DOP of RHTDM. RIP Johny Lal sir. Your gentleness, kindness and brilliance will be so missed. You so beautifully managed to bring out our souls in RHTDM and now yours makes its way to the heavens. Heartbroken and aghast.”

Actor Tusshar Kapoor took to his official Instagram handle Tuesday morning and wrote, “RIP Johnny sir! Thank you for making #mujhekuchkehnahai look like the way it did, fresh even today! Thank you for making my rawness and imperfection seem natural and youthful, during the filming of my 1st film! #prayers #kindsoul #gorgeouscinematography #ripbrother #johnylal.”

Veteran actor Satish Kaushik also took to twitter to pay his condolences to the late cinematographer. He wrote, “Oh God!! Shocked to hear about demise of Johny Lal an ace cinematographer, great, simple human being. Will miss you Johny Maa. Heartfelt condolences to the family and may his pure soul RIP.. Om Shanti #KabirLal #Amirlal.”
