‘Doctor Strange in The Multiverse of Madness,’ starring Benedict Cumberbatch, is on its approach to breaking the $100 million mark in India.
On its debut Monday, the box office for the Hollywood superhero flick dropped. According to box office India, the film grossed an estimated Rs 7.50 crore nett on Monday, bringing its total to an estimated Rs 86.50 crore.
‘Multiverse Of Madness’ saw a decline in Monday box office receipts, but the picture managed to hold on thanks to a successful opening weekend. Due to the film’s lacklustre performance on Sunday, industry analysts projected a dip in business.
Despite the decline in box office receipts, the picture is projected to succeed and handily surpass the $100 million milestone. Given the daily dip in revenues, the question remains if the picture will achieve this record in its first week or whether it will have to wait a little longer. Despite the declines, the picture is projected to do well at the Indian box office in its second weekend.
According to the study, ‘Multiverse of Madness’ has received over 70% of its revenue from India’s Hindi circuits. This is reported to be a greater percentage than any previous Hollywood pictures released in India since the epidemic, including ‘Godzilla Vs Kong,’ ‘The Batman,’ and even ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home.’
On its debut Friday, the picture, which is a sequel to ‘Doctor Strange,’ grossed Rs 28 crore. On Saturday, it earned an additional Rs 26 crore, while Sunday’s earnings were anticipated to be around Rs 25 crore.
Meanwhile, ‘Multiverse of Madness’ has already set a new record in India as the fourth largest opening weekend for a Hollywood picture.
‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ is a touch behind ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home,’ which came out last year. ‘Avengers: Endgame,’ ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home,’ and ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ are among the finest Marvel films.
‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ is the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s 28th film (MCU). Elizabeth Olsen, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Benedict Wong, Xochitl Gomez, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Rachel McAdams are among the cast members.
