Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone, who is currently undergoing special physical training for her forthcoming film, Pathan, took to social media on Sunday to celebrate 8 years of Chennai Express. The film was directed by Rohit Shetty and featured Deepika Padukone as Meenamma and Shah Rukh Khan as Rahul Mithaiwala.
Deepika took to her Instagram stories, today, August 8, to celebrate eight years of Chennai Express. The actress won hearts with her performance in the film and its iconic scenes and dialogues are still remembered by the audience. The action-comedy film went on to become one of the highest-grossing Bollywood films of all time.
Sharing the videos on Instagram stories, Deepika captioned it, “@iamsrk @itsrohitshetty.”
Rohit Shetty also celebrated 8 years of Chennai Express. The director took to his Instagram stories and shared a poster of the film featuring Deepika Padukone and Shah Rukh Khan and simply added a gif of “8 years.”
After Om Shanti Om, Happy New Year, and Chennai Express, Deepika Padukone and Shah Rukh Khan are set to reunite again for Pathan. They have started shooting for Pathan, which is being filmed at Yash Raj Films Studios in Mumbai. Directed by Siddharth Anand, the film also stars John Abraham in a pivotal role. It will also feature Salman Khan. For the first time, Deepika Padukone will perform high-octane sequences for the film. SRK also will be seen performing a stunt on the Burj Khalifa.
