Deepika and Shah Rukh Khan have a great bond, a wonderful chemistry and she did the film for free. SRK was Deepika’s first hero, when she made her debut in 2017 film Om Shanti Om and the duo have had some major hit films together.
Deepika’s cameo in Jawan, has been wonderful and impressionable. Fans have referred to Deepika as SRK’s ‘lucky charm’. In a special interview, about charging for these special appearances, Deepika states, “No, I don’t. I wanted to be a part of 83 because I wanted it to be an ode to women who stand behind their husbands’ glory. I watched my mother do it. This was my homage to wives who make sacrifices to support their husbands’ careers. Other than that, any special appearance for Shah Rukh Khan, I am there. Same with Rohit Shetty.”
Talking about her equation with SRK and Jawan becoming a blockbuster, she says, “We are each other’s lucky charm. But honestly, we are beyond luck. We have a sense of ownership over each other. I am one of the few people he is vulnerable with. There is so much trust and respect, and I think that luck is just the cherry on top.”
On the work front, Deepika will soon be seen in Fighter sharing the screen with Anil Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan. Also, she will be seen in the Hindi remake of the Intern with none other than the magnificent Amitabh Bachchan.
