Dia Mirza shared the first picture of her and Vaibhav Rekhi’s son Avyaan on World Elephant Day on Thursday. In the picture shared, the baby’s face is not visible, but one cannot miss the cute onesie that he is wearing which has a small elephant printed on it. The couple welcomed their son Avyaan on May 14. However, Dia and Vaibhav announced that they had been blessed with a son on Instagram two months later.
Dia Mirza shared a cute snap of her son Avyaan on Instagram. Sharing the photo, the actress wrote, “We are celebrating #WorldElephantDay,” followed by earth, elephant, and sun emojis.
Earlier, on July 14, Dia Mirza took to social media to announce the birth of their son. They also revealed his name, Avyaan Azaad. She wrote, “To have a child is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body.”
Her son was born on May 14 prematurely. Thanking the medical staff who took care of the little one, she wrote, “These words perfectly exemplify Vaibhav & my feelings right now. Our heartbeat, our son Avyaan Azaad Rekhi was born on May 14th. Having arrived early, our little miracle has since then been cared for by tireless nurses and doctors in the Neonatal ICU.”
“A sudden appendectomy during my pregnancy and a subsequent and very severe bacterial infection could have led to sepsis and proven to be life-threatening. Thankfully, the timely care and intervention by our doctor ensured the safe birth of our baby via an emergency C-section.”
Dia and Vaibhav wedding
Dia Mirza and Vaibhav Rekhi tied the knot in an intimate ceremony on February 15, with only friends and family members in attendance. Pictures and videos from the wedding went viral. The duo went to the Maldives for a holiday after their wedding.
Dia Mirza was earlier married to businessman Sahil Sangha. The two got separated in August 2019. Dia then started dating Vaibhav Rekhi, who was earlier married to Yoga instructor, Sunaina Rekhi.
