There is great news for the Korean Boy Band Fans. BTS’s ‘DNA’ is the first music video to hit the 1.3 billion mark on YouTube. The BTS army congratulated the artists on their achievement with the hashtag #DNA1B on Twitter.
One user commented, “And now DNA hits 1.3 Billion views on YouTube today wow. Congratulations to us let’s stream more.” Another user wrote, “They’re really ¼ away from having five total videos reach 1B views and more only half away! #BoyWithLuv1B #DNA1B #bts.” The BTS Army member also added screenshots of the videos.
There are other Korean music videos other than BTS’s ‘DNA’ on YouTube. BLACKPINK’S ‘Kill This Love’ and ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ have hit the mark of 1 billion views. Apart from this, PSY’s ‘Gangnam Style’ and ‘Gentleman’ have also achieved similar success.
The song ‘DNA’ hit the mark on July 2, 2021, at 11:55 PM (KST). It took the music video around 3 years and 9.5 months to reach the milestone. The music video was released on September 18, 2017.
Upon release ‘DNA’ was praised for its production, sound, and direction. The music video stood at number one in Billboard K-pop Hot 100. It has since sold 2.5 billion copies in South Korea.
