India has always held a special attraction for Elli AvrRam. Surprisingly, on Swedish television, when a Bollywood song was being broadcast, she first learned about Bollywood when she was around five years old.

I literally fell in love for the first time in my life at that point, Elli claims in a Zoom discussion with City Times.

“I was utterly in awe because everything was so fascinating. I realized right then and there that this is what I want to pursue with my life. Since then, every time I saw something on Swedish television about India, whether it was a documentary or something from Bollywood, I would immediately rush to the TV and stand there daydreaming of experiencing that moment and being like those girls. I had this calling all along.”

When Elli was a teenager, she experienced another turning point in her love for Bollywood when she saw Devdas, the first Bollywood film, on Swedish television. The movie is about three hours long and features Shah Rukh Khan, Madhuri Dixit, and Aishwarya Rai in the key roles. Little Elli would be captivated by the tiny TV in her room over the entire period.

She is currently experimenting with foreign language films. Her South début as a lead actress was in the Tamil film Naane Varuven, starring well-known actor Dhanush. It is admirable that Elli, a Swedish native, has learned several Indian languages and can speak them fluently, notably Hindi, which sounded as natural as it possibly could when she uttered it.

In addition to Dhanush, Ellie has been on screen alongside other notable celebrities. Another star-studded movie of hers, Goodbye, is presently showing in theaters in the UAE. She portrays Daisy Bhalla, a driven and fearless character, in Goodbye, a touching tale about life, family, and relationships. The movie, which was directed by Vikas Bahl, stars Amitabh Bachchan, Rashmika Mandanna, and Neena Gupta.
