The wait is over now. Fans all around the world couldn’t wait any longer to see the first episode of Money Heist: Korea- Joint Economic Area, which Netflix has officially released.

Money Heist Korea, a Korean adaptation of the 2017 popular Spanish series La Casa de Papel, attracted a lot of interest as word of its creation broke.

The story’s outcome and how the new actors representing the famed Professor and his gang of robbers pull off a heist in the thick of a North-South reunion were highly anticipated by fans of the original series.

In the episode, actor Jeon Jong-seo—who in the program portrays the legendary character of Tokyo—is shown walking into a building while BTS’s song DNA plays in the background. She puts on her headphones and can be seen dancing to the tune on the stairs as the music grows more audible.

“Fans of K-pop group BTS are dubbed ARMY,” her voiceover says as the graphics progress. Once people begin ascending the steps, she quickly returns to reality. They have members all throughout the world, the narrator continues. As people pass her, Tokyo is met with glares and stares.

The narrator adds, “Of course, there are ARMIES in North Korea too,” as she hastily exits the premises. The building is identified as the Kim Il-Sung University of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) in an establishing shot.

She is shown in her room in the following shot, still bopping to the music. The narrator adds “For me, it came naturally. I’ve been listening to K-pop and watching K-dramas in secret ever since I was a young child.”

The music immediately stops when her doorknob rattles, and as it opens, a woman is seen checking on Tokyo, who is now studying while seated at her desk.

As the door closes, the narration starts. There is, however, one thing that will always make me stand apart from the other ARMYs. The speaker then states, “I had to join the actual army,” followed by the sound of a marching band.

The specific footage quickly gained popularity online, and fans expressed their excitement to be a part of such a well-liked program and their intention to follow the show religiously.

Additionally, viewers said that because to the series, ARMYs had gained worldwide notoriety.
