Dilip Kumar, who was popularly known as the tragedy king of Bollywood, passed away today morning, July 7 after a prolonged illness. After his death, Bollywood choreographer Farah Khan Kunder shared an incident with the legendary actor from when she was just 4-years-old. Senior actress Madhuri Dixit and legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar also mourned the demise of the actor.

Many celebrities paid their last respects to the veteran actor. Some took to social media to offer their condolences to his family. While some visited his Mumbai residence. Film director and choreographer Farah Khan too took to Instagram and shared an unknown incident about Dilip Kumar.

Recalling a wedding reception, she shared that there was once a stampede at a wedding venue when Dilip Kumar entered. Taking to Instagram, Farah Khan wrote, “I was all of 4 yrs old when I saw my first stampede.. #dilipkumar walked into a wedding reception… there was hysteria.. women thronged to see him, the bridal couple’s stage broke!! Such was the magic! He was known as the tragedy king, but I was always a fan of his comedic timing… there will be no1 like him .. deepest condolences to #sairaji n his family.”

Madhuri Dixit mourned the loss of the legendary actor 

Madhuri Dixit, who starred with Dilip Kumar in Kanoon Apna Apna, Karma, and Izzatdaar, wrote a special tribute remembering him. The actress shared a throwback picture with Dilip Kumar and called him a legend. She wrote, “Every now & then some individuals come along who single-handedly alter the present & write history… One such legend was Dilip Saab for the world of cinema. I was fortunate to have spent some time with him both on & off the screen and I’ll cherish those memories forever. Praying for the peace of his departed soul & my heartfelt condolence to the family RIP.”

Lata Mangeshkar remembered her elder brother Dilip Kumar 

Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar took to Twitter on Wednesday to mourn the demise of the actor Dilip Kumar. In an emotional post on Twitter, she remarked that the actor has left behind a lot of memories.

My brother Yusuf has passed away, leaving me behind. It is like an end of an era. Your passing away is unfathomable. I am very sad. I don’t have any words. You have left us behind with a lot of memories),” she tweeted.

Lata Mangeshkar also praised Saira Banu for taking care of Dilip Kumar until his last breath. She said Banu’s life revolved around the legendary actor.

He was sick for a long time. He wasn’t able to recognize anyone. In such a time, his wife Saira Banu was always with him, served him every day and night. She did not have a life beyond him. I want to pay my respect and tribute to her. I hope and wish my brother Yusuf’s soul rests in peace),” Lata Mangeshkar concluded.

Dilip Kumar was unwell for a long time 

Veteran actor Dilip Kumar died at the age of 98. The veteran actor was suffering from bilateral pleural effusion. He was first admitted to the hospital on June 6. After getting his proper treatment done, he was discharged in a week. Later in the month, on June 30, he was again admitted to Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai. The actor passed away today morning at 7.30 am.
