Harlan Coben signed a contract with Netflix, for 14 of his best sellers to be developed into series. Safe, The Woods, The Stranger, Stay Close, Innocent and Hold Tight are some that have engrossed the viewers.
Harlan Coben says, “For every twist that ends up in my stories, I probably thought of 10 others that I cut out. I really enjoy playing with your expectations, and I think you’ll see a lot of bombs and twists dropping at the end of this new series too. The last one is a real gut punch.”
The series stars Michelle Keegan as Maya, a widow who sees her murdered husband on the nanny cam. This arises suspicion. The series released on the 1st of January, but the social media is flooded with comments calling it ‘brilliant’. The 8-episode series has several twists and turns and it keeps you guessing who killed her sister Claire and Joe.
Detective Sergeant Sami Kierce leads the investigation, while dealing with his own health and mental issues. Eddie, Claire, the sister’s husband, is heart-broken after his wife’s death and Maya, helps him straighten up and at the same time with her army background and sharp brain, she does not waste a single moment to find the killer.
Maya, plays her part beautifully and had me hooked to the show. Her own grief and the events from her military combat in the past that haunt her, do not let her rest till the mystery is solved. I just loved the show!
