‘He has the makings of a major star – the looks, talent and lineage’ – Shobhaa De as she lauds Ishaan Khatter for his act in ‘Pippa’ song ‘Main Parwaana’

After much wait and anticipation, the war epic ‘Pippa’ finally had its grand digital premiere on Amazon Prime Video on November 10, 2023. Receiving incredible response from both, critics and the audiences, the film stars Ishaan Khatter in the lead essaying the role of Captain Balram Singh Mehta. While his performance in the film has garnered him applause from all quarters, it’s his signature dance moves that have further escalated the praises coming in for him.

As the film’s song ‘Main Parwaana’ has been hitting the music charts and constantly trending on social media, fans are highly impressed with Ishaan Khatter’s dance moves. Joining the league now is the acclaimed novelist and columnist Shobhaa De who believes the actor has the makings of a major star while lauding his dancing in the ‘Pippa’ song. Sharing a picture of Ishaan from the song on her social media handle, Shobhaa De wrote, “Ishaan Khatter’s “Main Parwana” is possibly the best choreographed Bollywood movie song in a decade. I have watched it over and over again…I am hooked. He has the makings of a major star – the looks, talent and lineage. All he needs is that one breakthrough super hit!”

In addition to this, actor Hrithik Roshan also showered praise on Ishaan for his dance in the song saying, “Kya Baat Hai Ishaan” along with a clapping emoji.

Composed by A. R. Rahman, ‘Main Parwaana’ is sung by Arijit Singh, Pooja Tiwari, Nisa Shetty and Rakshita Suresh.

Inspired by true events, ‘Pippa’ tells the story of three siblings set against the backdrop of the action-packed 48-hour Battle of Garibpur during the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971. Produced by Ronnie Screwvala’s RSVP Movies and Siddharth Roy Kapur’s Roy Kapur Films, directed by Raja Krishna Menon and with music by A R Rahman, ‘Pippa’ stars Ishaan Khatter, Mrunal Thakur, Priyanshu Painyuli and Soni Razdan.
