The most awaited series, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar is set to release on 1st May. The series takes us back to the era of British rule. The series has a stellar cast with Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Richa Chadha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Shekhar Suman and several others.
On Wednesday, Netflix India hosted a grand premiere and several stars such as Alia Bhatt, Rekha, Vicky Kaushal and Genelia Deshmukh attended the event.
The trailer was released earlier and it takes you back to the time of courtesans. The scheming Mallikajaan rules over an elite house of courtesans but a new rival threatens her reign as rebellion brews in British ruled India.
Genelia, was amongst the first to share the review on Instagram. She posted, “Just saw 2 episodes of Heeramandi and it has me craving for more. What a world, what a journey you take us through, Sanjay Sir. Mesmerized as always. Loved, loved loved the entire cast and what a super effort by the crew too. Netflix, this is truly special.”
Tanishaa Mukherji called the show “an absolute must-watch.” Esha Deol called it “spectacular.”
When Sonakshi was questioned about how her journey was, she said, “The level of surrender I learnt on this set was incomparable. You just have to let go because nothing is in your control. As an actor we love having things in our control but this is the one set where nothing was in our control.”
