As he began filming for the Netflix film The Gray Man, actor Dhanush tweeted a behind-the-scenes photo. Dhanush shared a snapshot on Instagram that shows him seated in front of many TVs.

In the behind-the-scenes shot, Dhanush is surrounded by equipment. When the photograph was taken, he appeared to be immersed in one of the displays. Dhanush tagged the Russo Brothers in the photo and captioned it, “A bit more Gray Man…”

“Awesome Anna, hoping to see you in Hollywood soon,” one admirer remarked in response to Dhanush’s tweet, while another added, “This is called success.”

The Gray Man is an action thriller directed by Joe and Anthony Russo. Chris Evans, Ryan Gosling, Ana de Armas, Jessica Henwick, Wagner Moura, Julia Butters, Alfre Woodard, and Billy Bob Thornton will all appear in the film. Dhanush is expected to play an adversary in the film.

The Russo Brothers had sent Dhanush a message in June, before of the release of his film Jagame Thandhiram. They’d posted the film’s trailer and given it a shout-out “Thambi thambi I’m looking forward to collaborating with Dhanush, and I wish him well with Jagame Thandhiram.”

“Elated to announce that I will be joining the team of Netflix’s The Gray Man starring Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans, directed by The Russo Brothers,” Dhanush said on Twitter last year, announcing his role in the film (Avengers, Captain America: Winter Soldier). I’m looking forward to becoming a part of this amazing action adventure. “I’d want to express my heartfelt gratitude to all of my dearest admirers throughout the world for all of the love and support you’ve shown me over the years.”

The film is based on Mark Greaney’s novel. “The film is a true mano a mano between those two outstanding performers who portray two distinct aspects of the CIA in terms of what it can be and what it can achieve.” Fans of Captain America: Winter Soldier will recognise this as a return to similar region in a more realistic environment.

In the meanwhile, Dhanush will star with Sara Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar in Aanand L Rai’s film Atrangi Re. T-Series, Aanand’s Colour Yellow Productions, and Akshay’s Cape of Good Films collaborated on Atrangi Re, which was directed by Bhushan Kumar. It’ll be available on Disney+ Hotstar on December 24.
