Lee Eol, a Korean actor who starred in dramas such as “Voice” season 4, “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay,” and “Hot Stove League,” died of cancer on May 26. He was 58 years old at the time. Lee Eol died on May 26 following a battle with esophageal cancer, according to his agency. After the fourth season of the drama “Voice,” which aired from June to July 2021, the actor was diagnosed with cancer.

“Esophageal cancer is a kind of cancer that affects the oesophagus, which is a long, hollow tube that connects your throat to your stomach. Esophageal cancer normally starts in the cells that line the esophagus’s interior. Esophageal cancer can develop at any point in the oesophagus. According to the Mayo Clinic website, “esophageal cancer affects more males than women.”

“Esophageal cancer is the sixth most prevalent cause of cancer deaths globally,” it said. The rates of infection change depending on where you live. Tobacco and alcohol use, as well as certain food habits and obesity, may be linked to greater prevalence of esophageal cancer in specific areas.”

Lee Eol had his stage debut in 1983, and his first film, “The End of a Short Trip,” was released in 1993.

His character in “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay” was Ko Dae-hwan, the father of actress Seo Ye-character ji’s and a hospital patient.

 

“Move To Heaven,” “Love Scene Number,” “18 Again,” “Justice,” and “Watcher” are among his other drama credits.

In addition to “The Policeman’s Lineage,” “The 8th Night,” “Kim Ji-Young: Born 1982,” and “Insadong Scandal,” he appeared in Korean films such as “The Policeman’s Lineage,” “The 8th Night,” “Kim Ji-Young: Born 1982,” and “Insadong Scandal.”

The funeral hall at Seoul Medical Center is hosting Lee Eol’s wake. On May 28, he will be laid to rest.
