At Katrina Kaif’s birthday party, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan clashed when SRK allegedly made an improper remark about Salman’s ex-girlfriend Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. And Jaya Bachchan was not amused by his statement.
It’s no secret that Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, who are now excellent friends, were once furious adversaries. SRK and Katrina Kaif had previously clashed at Katrina Kaif’s birthday party when SRK allegedly made an improper remark about Salman’s ex-girlfriend Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Aishwarya’s mother-in-law, Jaya Bachchan, was not amused by Shah Rukh Khan’s comments.
In an interview with People magazine, Jaya Bachchan voiced her outrage and disgust with SRK’s statement about her daughter-in-law, even claiming that if the superstar had made such words at her home, she would have smacked him on the spot.
“Without a doubt, I do. I haven’t gotten the chance to speak with him about it yet, but I plan to do so soon. I would have smacked him if he had been at my house, just as I would my own kid. But I’ve had a spiritual connection with him, and that’s all “When asked if she had anything against SRK, Jaya Bachchan told the magazine that she didn’t.
This wasn’t the first time Jaya had lost her cool in front of the King Khan. The legendary actress had panned his film Happy New Year, claiming that it was a stupid picture that she would not have bothered to see if her son Abhishek Bachchan wasn’t in it.
Jaya’s statement enraged SRK, who responded by claiming that Amitabh Bachchan’s legendary film Amar Akbar Anthony was similarly dubbed a senseless picture at the time, but went on to become one of the most enjoyable films of all time. Abhishek then apologized to SRK on behalf of his mother, and the Khans and Bachchan’s now have a strong connection.
