Sushmita Sen is a delight to watch on screen. I loved Aarya and what strength of character she displayed in that series. She suffered a cardiac arrest, but now is back in the game and what a show Jio Cinemas is bringing where she takes on the garb of a transgender, Shreegauri Sawant and the teaser gives us a sneak-peek into her struggles, triumphs and strong will power.

Taali is created by Arjun Singhh Baran and Kartk D Nishandar and produced by Afeefa Nadiawala. In the teaser, we have Sushmita wearing a saree and adjusting her big bindi as she looks at herself in the mirror. Members of the queer community greet and touch the feet of the activist Shreegauri Sawant alias Sushmita.
For those unversed, Shreegauri hails from Pune and left home in her teens to avoid disappointing her father. Founder of the NGO Sakhi Char Chowgi Trust, where in counselling is provided for the transgender community. She was the first activist to file a petition in the Supreme Court for the adoption rights of the transgenders.
We are all looking forward to see this sojourn of struggle for everyone to live their lives on their terms and dignity.
