‘The Good Wife’ is an Indian adaptation of American courtroom drama, that starred Julianna Margulies in the lead role and was aired in 2009. The show has seven seasons and concluded in 2016. The show was created by CBS Studios, in association with Scott Free Productions and King Size Productions.
On 8th September, Disney+Hotstar announced that Bollywood star Kajol’s wed series is titled, “The Good Wife-Pyaar, Kanoon, Dhokha.” The show is directed by Suparn Verma and produced by Banijay Asia.
As a part of its Disney+Day celebration, the 48-year actor’s first look was unveiled.
Taking to Instagram, the ‘Tanhaji’ actor shared a teaser where she is spotted wearing a black robe and walking into the courtroom. Then she asks, “Shuru Kare?” She looks staunch and impressive in her new avatar. The series will witness Kajol playing the role of a housewife who is forced to return to work as a lawyer after her husband’s public trial puts him behind bars.
Kajol is extremely happy about her new role and says, “Great thing as I love to take challenges head-on. Being an avid fan of digital series, the concept has always been intriguing; and after following cool shows such as ‘Aarya’ and ‘Rudra’, I knew there was no other platform other than Disney +Hotstar to start my series journey.”
Kajol made her first digital debut with Netflix film Tribhanga in 2021, which starred Tanvi Azmi and Mithila Palkar, and was directed by Renuka Shahane. Kajol will be seen in ‘Salaam Venky’ alongside Aahana Kumra and Vishal Jethwa. The movie is directed by Revathi.
