The first teaser of Kangana Ranaut’s Emergency is here. The movie that is set to release on the 24th of November, 2023, marks Kangana’s solo directorial debut.
The teaser depicts 25th June, 1975, there is chaos on the streets and a “State of Emergency” is declared. Anupam Kher plays the role of the late political leader Jayaprakash Narayan, also known as JP Narayan in the film.
Kangana Ranaut, playing the role of Indira Gandhi looks perfect for the role. She is heard saying, “No one can stop me from protecting this country as India is Indira and Indira is India!” Kangana posted on Instagram, “A protector or a dictator? Witness the darkest phase of our history when the leader of our nation declared a war on it’s people. #Emergency releasing worldwide on 24th November.”
The movie is written by Ritesh Shah, who also penned Kangana’s last film Dhaakad. The movie is based on the third Indian Emergency. When the movie was announced, it did ruffle some feathers and leaders from Congress did oppose the movie. I am sure the movie will face some battles once it comes out.
Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhary, Milind Soman, the late Satish Kaushik, Vishak Nair and Shreyas Talpade will also be a part of this movie.
