Kareena Kapoor Khan has caught everyone’s attention after her OTT release ‘Jaane Jaan.’ The next project in her kitty is the movie directed by Hansal Mehta, ‘The Buckingham Murders’, that marks her debut as a producer. The movie premiered at the London Film Festival on the 14th October.

In this movie, she plays the role of a mother who becomes a detective after her child is shot to death. The story is a murder mystery but it extends beyond grief, trauma and closure. Kareena confesses that she intentionally limited her knowledge about the role as she wanted to detach herself from the deep loss her character had to undergo. A mother of two herself, the loss of a child is unbearable to phantom. A fan of crime dramas, she found her role disturbing after a point, however this role she defines as a “career defining” move.

Kareena said, “I think I loved playing that part because this is the first time, I am playing a detective and I am a huge crime drama fan.” Kareena also mentions that she asked the director to make it a four-part series since she did not want to let go of her character.

The film also stars Ash Tandon, Ranveer Brar and Keith Allen and is produced by the trio of Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan.
