Bollywood actress Karisma Kapoor is one of the most successful actresses of the b-town industry from the 1990s and 2000s. She made her Bollywood debut with Prem Qaidi in 1991at the age of 17. The actress marked three decades of her career in Bollywood on June 21.
Karisma shared a throwback picture from her first film on social media to mark the milestone.
The actress shared a picture of an iconic scene from Prem Qaidi. She can be seen wearing a black swimsuit with her hair left open. She captioned her post as, “MOOD #30yearsofpremqaidi #confindenceofa17yearold #gratefuleveryday @sureshproductions.”
Karishma did her first film with actor Harish Kumar, who was just 15 back then. The lead role was first offered to actor Sanjay Kapoor but he rejected the offer. Remembering the same, Sanjay Kapoor commented on Karishma’s recent post as, “Could have been your first hero.”
Along with Sanjay Kapoor, Raveena Tandon was also offered the female lead role in Prem Qaidi but she too denied it as she didn’t want to wear a swimsuit.
About the film
The film Prem Qaidi was released in 1991. It was directed and written by K Murali Mohan Rao. The film also featured Paresh Rawal, Dalip Tahil, Asrani, Shafi Inamdar, and Bharat Bhushan. It was the Hindi remake of the Telugu film Prema Khaidi of 1990.
Karisma Kapoor’s career
Karisma Kapoor was one of the leading ladies of the 90s. The actress went on to act in over 50 films, with most of them being blockbuster hits. She was seen in films like Jigar (1992), Anari (1993), Raja Babu (1994), Coolie No. 1 (1995), Saajan Chale Sasural (1996), Jeet (1996), Raja Hindustani (1996), Dil To Pagal Hai (1997) and many others. She was last seen on the web series Mentalhood in 2020.
